JSS’s Shree Manjunatheshwara PU college (SMPU) vidyagiri, Dharwad is an offshoot of Janata Shikashna Samathi, Dharwad. The very edifice called SMPU had its humble beginning in the year 2001. The two year course is available in combinations with subjects like Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, Statistics, and Kannada, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, etc. These subjects are taken as per the combinations offered by the colleges.
Commerce subjects are an open window to fields like Accountancy, Marketing and Business Management.Students need to face numerous competitive examinations to get into courses of their choice. It is important, therefore, that a Pre-University college trains its students accordingly. Our Pre-University Commerce College offers students intensive and in depth teaching and training required to face board examinations as well as competitive examinations. The teaching is learning centric and relies on traditional teaching methodology. The college is equipped with modern technology but the emphasis is on classroom learning rather than on technology centric learning.
